MANILA, Philippines – With his senatorial candidates declaring that they will not engage in mudslinging during the campaign, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. takes it upon himself to address the attacks of the camp of Rodrigo Duterte during the Alyansa para Bagong Pilipinas campaign kickoff in Metro Manila on Tuesday, February 18.

In his speech at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City, Marcos makes indirect potshots at his predecessor. He makes a quip about Duterte’s joke that he wished 15 senators would get “killed” so that his senatorial bets would have a better chance of winning in the May 12 race.

Marcos also says none of his candidates use fear, intimidation, and black propanda to get votes, and that POGOs are unnecessary to generate jobs.

Bonz Magsambol reports.
