MANILA, Philippines – It’s been almost a year since South Korean indie rock band wave to earth last played for their Filipino fans. Composed of Daniel Kim (vocals and guitar), Shin Dong-gyu (drummer), and Cha Soon-jong (bass), the trio staged a pretty memorable show concert in March 2024 at the New Frontier Theater for their “the first era” tour.

Now, they’re finally returning to Manila for their “play with earth! 0.03” world tour, which will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on February 28. The KARPOS-mounted show will see the three-piece band, known for hits like “seasons,” “bad,” and “love.” enchant Filipino fans anew. Here’s why we’re all buzzing with excitement for it:

1. Their last Manila concert was a stunning showcase of talent

During the band’s first concert in Manila, they captivated the audience with exceptional artistry, showcasing their musical talents as well as their connection with their fans. Now, after two years, they’re finally coming back and are ready to deliver another unforgettable experience.

2. They’re touring in support of their new album, play with earth! 0.03

This world tour celebrates their latest album, play with earth! 0.03, released in September 2024. The album was met with widespread acclaim, debuting at #5 on Spotify’s Global Top Debut Album chart. Being known for their unique blend of indie-pop and lo-fi jazz drumming, wave to earth’s setlist will feature fresh tracks from the album that Filipino fans are eager to hear live for the first time.

3. A bigger venue means a bigger experience

wave to earth’s popularity has soared since their last visit in 2024, and they’re upgrading to a much larger venue this time around. This means more fans can join the experience, bigger production value, and an even grander atmosphere. The venue for their “the first era” concert in 2024 was the New Frontier Theater while their upcoming concert will be in Mall of Asia Arena.

4. Meet & greet with the band members

Unlike their previous two-day Manila show where VIP tickets only included a group photo with the band members, this time VIP ticket holders get an exclusive meet-and-greet with them. It’s a dream come true for fans who have been longing for interactions with the group.

5. Special live encores every concert

One of the most magical parts of a wave to earth concert are their encores. The band has a tradition of performing special tracks exclusively for their live shows, making every concert a one-of-a-kind experience thus, Filipino fans are expecting something truly special for their Manila stop.

6. wave to earth’s love for Manila

The band’s lead singer, Daniel Kim, has mentioned that no matter how far they travel, they will always come back to Manila because of their love for the Filipino crowd. Knowing how much wave to earth members appreciate their Filipino fans makes every visit from them even more meaningful.

7. The magic of singing along with a Filipino crowd

There is nothing quite like experiencing wave to earth live as their music gives you chills in the best way possible. Adding the energy of the passionate Filipino crowd, which has a reputation for being one of the best out there, the concert transforms into something truly magical when you’re surrounded by people who enjoy the same music you do.
