Rufa Mae Quinto surrenders to NBI

MANILA, Philippines – Rufa Mae Quinto surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, January 8, in response to an arrest warrant issued by a Pasay court in relation to her involvement with the company Dermacare.

According to GMA’s Balitanghali report, Quinto arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 from California on Wednesday. She was seen being escorted by NBI personnel on her way out.

The Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) issued a warrant of arrest for the actress-comedienne in December 2024. Quinto’s lawyer, Mary Louise Reyes, earlier said that she is facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code, or the unlawful sale of securities.

Reyes had earlier said that the LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines star would voluntarily surrender and post bail. She also clarified that the charges were not for large-scale syndicated estafa.
