MANILA, Philippines – GMA actress Rita Daniela filed an acts of lasciviousness complaint against her Widows’ War co-star Archie Alemania with the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City, Cavite, on Wednesday, October 30.
According to the actress’ complaint affidavit, the incident happened after a house party that actress Bea Alonzo organized for the cast and crew of Widows’ War in Quezon City.
Rita said she arrived at the venue past midnight on September 9, and was immediately made uncomfortable by Alemania’s remark: “Naku, Rita, huwag kang lumapit sa akin. Napaka-fuckable mo tonight, ah! (Gosh, Rita, don’t come near me. You’re so fuckable tonight!)”
Alemania, who Rita says appeared to be drunk, continued to make inappropriate remarks about the actress, loudly telling another male party-goer to make sexual advances on her. While Alonzo had reprimanded Alemania, Rita said that she chose not to confront him as she chalked his behavior up to being intoxicated.
Rita Daniela’s claims
While Rita was waiting for the ride she booked through a ride-hailing service, she said that Alemania’s vehicle stopped in front of her, and he insisted that he take her home for her safety, as it was already past 2 am. Thinking that the actor – who she saw as a friend and older brother – had already sobered up, Rita agreed to get in the car with him.
Rita alleged that in the middle of the ride, the 46-year-old actor caressed her neck and shoulder, to which she told him, “Kuya, huwag ganyan. Kuya kita e (Kuya, don’t do that. You’re my older brother).”
As the 29-year-old actress was preparing to disembark from the vehicle after they arrived at her home in Bacoor, Alemania allegedly forcefully grabbed her hand and said, “Kiss muna (Kiss first).” After verbally turning down Alemania’s advances, Rita said the male actor then grabbed her head and forcibly kissed her on the lips “with his tongue out.”
Despite attempting to push Alemania off and shouting at him to stop what he was doing, the TODA One I Love star still continued to press his lips against hers, until Rita was finally able to push him off. As she was getting down from the car, Alemania got a hold of her bag’s strap, pulled her towards him, and groped her breast.
According to Rita, she struggled to break free from Alemania’s grasp, with the actor beginning to repeatedly ask her for a booking (implying sexual intercourse). She then successfully pushed him off anew to flee from the vehicle and get inside her house. Still shaken from the encounter, Rita said that she suddenly received a text message from Alemania, saying “Huy (hey),” to which she replied that while she appreciates his taking her home, she still felt “disrespected and violated” by his actions.
The actress said she ignored Alemania’s phone call, until she realized later that the male actor was still waiting in front of her house. Alemania would not leave despite being told by Rita to do so. Rita then texted him to go home so as to not disturb the neighbors, as her dogs continued to bark at Alemania.
Alemania then supposedly went home, and texted Rita apologizing for his drunkenness. In the complaint affidavit, Rita said that her text message exchange with Alemania proves that he has admitted to his actions.
Rita Daniela, whose full name is Rita Daniela de Guzman Iringan, is best known for her roles in the shows My Special Tatay, All Out Sundays, One of the Baes, and Ang Dalawang Ikaw, among others. In Widows’ War, she plays the role of Rebecca Palacios, while Alemania – who she’s accusing of acts of lasciviousness – plays Marcus Villa. The actress has one son.
Meanwhile, Archie Alemania, whose real name is Archibald Nicholas Alemania, is a comedian, dancer, and actor. He is married to Gee Canlas, and has two children. He has yet to comment on the issue.
The incident involving the two Kapuso actors came after independent GMA contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz were charged with rape through sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness in actor Sandro Muhlach’s case. – Rappler.com
