MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang suspended classes at all levels and work in government offices in the entire Luzon for Wednesday, October 23, due to Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami).
Government agencies involved in disaster preparedness and response as well as delivery of vital services are not covered by the suspension, which was announced late Tuesday evening, October 22.
For private companies, the suspension of work “is left to the discretion of their respective heads,” the Office of the Executive Secretary said.
Local government units have been declaring class suspensions as Kristine is bringing moderate to torrential rain and strong winds to much of Luzon and the Visayas.
The tropical storm is expected to make landfall in Luzon — either in Isabela or Aurora — on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, October 24. – Rappler.com
